These Bereavement topics are appropriate for someone facing a recent loss as well as those hoping to find an invitation to experience their grief as they learn to cope with the demands of life. The goal of each topic is to lift the despair and provide hope.
Coping with Loneliness and Grief: Throughout each stage of grieving, there is loneliness. Learn how to battle loneliness on your own terms and explore new ways to fill your life with what you need when you need it. Through small group exercises and activities you will see how to be proactive in your life rather than reactive.
Expecting the Unexpected Even in Grief: Although the stages of grief are predictable, the way each person approaches their grief is very individual. Through a firm understanding of the stages of grief, learn what to expect and more importantly how to make room for the unexpected.
Why Don’t They Understand My Grief? Friends and family that have stood by you through all the seasons of your life don’t understand your grief. The people around you bring their own preconceived ideas of how, when and where you should grieve. Learn how to deal with these misconceptions and find your path to healing through your grief.
When will the Ache Go Away? Grieving is a rollercoaster of emotions begining with numbness curving through anger, toppling over fear and dipping into depression and only to begin again. How much emotion is too much? Learn ways to cope with your feelings while moving forward into your future.
