Coping with Children of Families in Pain: the Impact of Cancer, Grief and Divorce:  A family crisis such as cancer, grief or divorce  can over overwhelm a child and significantly impact the school setting.   This session will teach how to recognize the impact of the family crisis on the child’s emotions, attention span, disorganization and social skills.  Specific strategies will be discussed for dealing with family patterns such as denial, secret keeping, and conflict  as well as their effect on the child in the school or home setting.
